2008 UNIVERSITY MATHS OLYMPICS IS OVERThe 2008 University Maths Olympics is over, with Something Less Stupid beating a host of other teams to the top position. Congratulations also to The Contravariant Funksters and Purity for placing 2nd and 3rd respectively. The full results can be seen by clicking here. Thanks to all the teams that participated. We hope to see you all again next year. The Maths Olympics is a competition that combines mathematical problem solving ability with physical prowess. It is definitely the highlight of the MUMS calendar! Each year, MUMS runs two such events: the Schools Maths Olympics (SMO), and the University Maths Olympics (UMO). They are similar in style, but vary in difficulty and in who is eligible to compete:
