Melbourne Honours Scholarships

 

A high achieving student can apply for a number of the University of Melbourne's prestigious Melbourne scholarships:

Melbourne Honours Scholarships:

These scholarships enable high achieving undergraduate students currently enrolled at any higher education institution to complete their final honours year of study at the University of Melbourne, before going onto a research higher degree. The scholarships help students meet the costs associated with relocation, airfares, accommodation and payment of HECS and other charges.

Melbourne Faculty Scholarships:

These are part of a major new initiative being developed in partnership with industry. These scholarships are available for study within a specific discipline.

Opportunities for International Students:

Scholarships are available to international students for undergraduate study and will assist commencing undergraduate students with the annual tuition fee for the duration of the course. Selection for these scholarships is based on academic merit.

Honours Studentships

For those full-time Honours/PGDip students who enrol solely in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics and who have not been awarded  any major scholarship, the department will provide a $1,000 studentship as a lump sum, subject to successful completion of the first semester and continuing enrolment. Successful completion of the first semester is defined as having completed at least three subjects with an average of at least 65 (for Honours students) or 50 (for PGDip students).

 

Maurice Belz Honours Scholarships

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers up to three Honours scholarships valued at $7,000 each to students who intend to enrol in the Bachelor of Science Honours Degree specialising in Statistics, and who undertake an
Honours project in one of these areas:

  • Applied Statistics
  • Probability
  • Stochastic Processes
  • Operations Research
