Abstract: I will show some examples of partially ordered sets naturally appearing in finite dimensional representations of classical groups. In particular, I will show posets describing branching rules or tensor product decomposition rules, and explain their relations to typical weight vectors in algebraic settings. Parts of this talk are based on joint work with Soo Teck Lee and Patrick Doolan.
