Abstract: String topology as operations associated to the free mapping spaces
\(M^{S^n}\), will be introduced from the point of view of my thesis. I
will then go on to describe work in progress on how this construction
leads to an extension of string topology, entangling it via Khovanov
homology. This makes the construction into a knot-invariant, where the
original string topology operations of Chas and Sullivan can be seen
as arising from the unknot.
