Temperley-Lieb algebras in the Potts and XXZ models with boundaries.

Abstract: I shall review the Temperley-Lieb algebra and its appearance in
two basic integrable theories: the XXZ and Potts models. I shall then
discuss how one can use extensions of this algebra to understand the
addition of integrable boundary terms in these models. I shall briefly
discuss the representation theory of these algebras and how the results
are useful in understanding physical aspects of these models.
