Abstract: I will try to give a rough idea of how the notion of
boundary gets used in the theory of countable Borel equivalence relations. This is related to work of Zimmer and Adams in the context of orbit equivalence. More recently these ideas have been used by
descriptive set theorists studying Borel reducibility.
