Abstract: Abstract polytopes are combinatorial structures that generalize the classical
concept of convex polytopes. Of particular interest to us will be polytopes with a high
degree of symmetries. In this talk we shall give an introduction to the theory of abstract
polytopes and take a detailed look at the automorphism groups of regular and two-orbit polytopes.
