Discrete Painleve equations: integrability, symmetries and associated linear problems. Part II

Abstract: We wish to discuss three aspects of discrete Painleve equations: integrability, symmetries
and associated linear problems. An introduction to the connection between the integrability
of these systems and their symmetries will be given. Further to this, recent work on how
special cases of the associated linear problems for discrete Painleve equations may be
solved using orthogonal polynomials have elucidated how the symmetries of discrete
Painleve equations manifest themselves as connection preserving deformations. We give
preliminary findings that suggest the group of connection preserving deformations for these
associated linear problems are of extended affine Weyl type.
