The Affine Hecke Algebra at Roots of Unity

Abstract: The affine Hecke algebra \tilde{H} is closely related to the group algebra of an affine Weyl group, and its representations are closely related to the representations of p-adic Lie groups. The representation theory of \tilde{H} is uniform for most values of its parameter q. If q is a root of unity of small order, however, the representation theory changes. In this talk, we will discuss combinatorial and geometric classifications of \tilde{H} modules and how they change when q is a root of unity.
