Abstract: I will give an overview of common methods used in species management and highlight some some statistical tools relevant to this area. Following, some preliminary results of the comparison of four interval estimators for the probabilities of presence and detection of species for a simulated and real data set, will be presented. Finally, I will outline some ideas which I plan to research further.
