Abstract: A variety of methods exist whereby the drag experienced by turbulent flows may be decreased. In some cases, such as the addition of particles to the fluid, the causes of this drag reduction are not immediately intuitive, and are often still open to debate. Several methods of drag reduction will be discussed, with particular reference to the maximum extent of drag reduction that such methods are capable of producing.
