The Mathematics of String Theory

Virtual Seminar

by Robbert Dijkgraaf

Institution: Institute for Theoretical Physics, Amsterdam
Date: Tue 26th April 2005
Time: 10:00 AM
Location: Theatre 2, Old Geology Building

Abstract: A review of current progress in string theory and the mathematical problems arising from this.

The virtual seminar series consists of lectures taken from the stores of streaming audio and video lectures recorded at places such as MSRI. The lecture will be presented as a video or audio along with slides of the notes. On Tuesdays April 26, May 10 and May 24, 2005 (and possibly the Tuesdays in between if people want that) we will be presenting lectures on mathematics related to string theory. The first lecture is a public lecture describing string theory in a very basic way.
