Abstract: Recently Khovanov and Rozansky introduced a homology theory for knots and links using matrix factorisations. I will explain what matrix factorisations are, how to combine matrix factorisations into webs, and how the Euler characteristic of these webs is related to Khovanov-Rozansky homology.
