Lie algebras; an overview

Abstract:

This talk will give a leisurely review of finite dimensional Lie algebras, by way of examples and pictures. Particular attention will be given to low dimensional cases, and to nilpotent Lie algebras. The talk will conclude with a discussion of their homological properties.
