Radical Knitting

Manifesto:

Radical knitting is the dual process of:

  • knitting ridiculous things (which then ought to be worn); and
  • knitting the aforementioned items in as many places as possible.

The aim of radical knitting is to challenge the cultural and social norms demanded by a bourgeois-capitalist-racist-homophobic-cornflake-eating society.

Besides being a quite flippant activity, Radical Knitting tends to inspire discussion (you'll be amazed how many people come up to ask what it is that you're knitting). This is the primary (well, secondary if you actually like what you're knitting, and intend to wear/use it) aim of Radical knitting since it enables political discussion with random strangers.

Why not start talking about queer rights, democracy (or lack thereof in modern society), anarchy or fallacious wars (on terror, Iraq,...)?
