Title: Geometry and the Kato Square Root Problem
Speaker: Lashi Bandara (Australian National University)
Abstract: The Kato square root problem on Euclidean space, which persisted as an open problem for over 30 years, was finally resolved in 2002. Since then, there has been a desire to understand versions of this problem in the presence of geometry. I will give some motivations as well as a history of this problem, recent results in geometric settings, before highlighting possible connections to geometric flows and PDE.
