Interesting Links

Material on partial differential equations is widely available on the WWW, but the subject is large and the levels of presentation vary strongly. I only list a few resources of possible interest.

The Wikipedia article on patial differential equations is well worth reading for an overview.

There is free access to a short textbook on partial differential equations by R. Showalter available from Oregon State University. This covers only part of the subject 620331, but those topics that it does treat are treated in greater depth and more generally.

Lecture notes for several partial differential equations subjects can be found at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology open courseware site.

While WWW resources and conventional textbooks can be very helpful, to ensure that you devote sufficient attention to the material in the syllabus, you should place the greatest emphasis on the material from the 620331 syllabus, that is, the material covered in lectures and practice classes, and in the problem sets.
