Department of Mathematics and Statistics 620-629 Integrable Models
Semester 2, 2009

As mentioned elsewhere, the lectures will closely follow the textbook. The aim is to cover the entire textbook from cover to cover. However, the book, while only about 100 pages long, it is in many places tersely written.

The plan is to cover the entire theory, give as many proofs and explanations as time allows, and refer students to the textbook to fill in the gaps. It is for that reason that access to the textbook is essential. As mentioned elsewhere, a copy will be on reserve in the library, but it is highly recommended that all serious students of the subject have their own copies (at less than A$70.00, it is about half the price of a typical first year textbook).

Please take notes in the lectures, then compare your notes with the textbook to fill in gaps, read a different wording of the same material, correct mistakes, etc.
