Assignments

The objective of the weekly assignments and problem sheets is to give you an opportunity to practice what is preached in class and to check that you can cope with the technical details of the subject. If you can't, do not hesitate to seek help! The weekly tutorials provide an informal environment for discussing problems concerning the material covered in class and problem sheets. You are also welcome to discuss matters with the lecturer during his office hours.

Students sometimes have difficulties distinguishing between two related but definitely distinct aspects of the notion of Group Effort:

We encourage you to work with your fellow students if this will help you to cope with the material.
We do not allow group submissions. The final stages of you work, including writing up, must be all your own. In particluar, copying or using the written work of other students is not permitted.

In other words, you should feel free to discuss the assignments with your fellow students, but you have to submit your own personal report.
