Policy for registration and abstract submission

Given the large reach of Statphys24 into the scientific community, it is hard to estimate the number of participants. In order to organise a successful meeting and to offer the participants optimal conditions, we have adopted the policy that the submission of an abstract should correspond to a commitment to participate. Therefore only abstracts submitted by registered participants will be considered for presentation at the conference.

It is possible to submit more than one abstract for poster presentations, but only one abstract, indicated by the author, will be considered for an oral presentation. Second or third abstracts should have different co-authors.

Delegates from developing countries seeking financial support via the booking form will not be charged before a satisfactory agreement is reached. In these cases, submitted abstracts will still be considered for presentation. If support is insufficient, these delegates can withdraw without penalty.

Delegates seeking external financial support may register via the booking form and should indicate the funding agency to which they have submitted an application. Registrations will not be charged until the funding application is awarded. In these cases, submitted abstracts will be considered for presentation. If support is insufficient, these delegates can withdraw without penalty.

The policy of Statphys will be to accept all abstracts which correspond to a professional contribution in the broad field of Statistical Physics. A refereeing process will decide between an oral contribution or a poster presentation.

In case you need a formal letter of invitation and/or acceptance of your abstract for administrative purposes such as payment of the conference fees (before 31 March) please send us a request

statphys24@statphys.org.au

and we will send you a generic statement. The decision between oral or poster will follow later (around 15 May).

Payment methods

All prices are in Australian dollars and are GST inclusive. Cheques or drafts must be made out in Australian currency, drawn on an Australian bank and free of all charges. Alternatively, payment by credit card is acceptable. Please note that debits to your credit card will appear as OzAccom on your credit card statement.

Cancellation & refund policy

Cancellations will only be accepted in writing. Cancellations made prior to 31 March 2010 will be refunded less 30% to cover administration costs. No registration refunds will be made after this date. As an alternative to cancellation, your registration may be transferred to another person without penalty.

Cancellation of tickets for social functions will be available if participation is cancelled more than twenty days prior to the function.
