Wendy Baratta

I am currently studying secondary teaching at the University of Melbourne.

Up until early February I was a PhD student at the University of Melbourne studying under Peter Forrester.

My thesis was on Macdonald polynomials. There are two main studies in the thesis; Pieri-type formulas for Macdonald polyomials and Macdonald polynomials with prescribed symmetry. I have written two papers on the first topic http://arxiv.org.pdf/0806.2695 and http://arxiv.org/abs/1008.0892 and one paper on the second topic http://arxiv.org/abs/1001.3134.

Throughout my studies I have been developing a mathematica program that efficiently computes a number of families of polynomials. These include symmetric Schur, zonal, Hall-Littlewood, Jack and Macdonald polynomials, nonsymmetric Jack and Macdonald polynomials and nonsymmetric interpolation Jack and Macdonald polynomials. The program can be ran on Mathematica 7. SpecialFunctions.nb
